Hi, I’m lisa Rawson.

About Me

After 15 years of working in film and television in London, I witnessed firsthand the negative effects of stress on the mind and body.

During this time, I discovered reflexology as a client, using it as a means of stress relief from my job. I found it to be a deeply relaxing experience and was intrigued as to why something so simple could have such a profound effect.

After moving away from London to raise our children and be with family here in the Cotswolds, I decided to retrain as a certified reflexologist. I have done this whilst also working alongside the NHS as a healthcare assistant in Minor Injury Units throughout Gloucestershire and also within the vaccination programme as a Vaccinator and Pharmacy Assistant with The Royal United Hospital, Bath.

I understand the importance of holistic self-care, and my aim is to provide healing and restorative reflexology to help you feel your best moving forward

I am a fully insured and registered member of The Association of Reflexologists (AoR)

My Approach

As a reflexologist, my primary goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for my clients.

I firmly believe in the power of touch and the body's innate ability to heal itself.

By applying pressure to specific reflex points on the feet or hands, I aim to stimulate and restore the energy flow within the body, promoting deep relaxation and aiding in the release of any blockages or tension.

To assist you on your journey of complete relaxation, I won't initiate conversation with you throughout your treatment, I will be led by you.

about reflexology

Reflexology is a form of massage therapy based on the theory that all organs and systems in the body have associated reflex points on the feet. In this way, a map of the body is mirrored on the feet, with the right foot corresponding to the right side of the body and the left foot to the left side of the body. This means that an entire body treatment can be undertaken by applying a specific massage technique to these reflex points during a treatment.

This map is also reflected in other smaller peripheral areas such as the hands, but the feet are more commonly treated. This deeply relaxing, holistic treatment has gained momentum alongside conventional medicine as so many benefits have been noted. A link to research is attached further down should you wish to investigate this therapy more.

The benefits of reflexology

Reflexology helps to generate a relaxed state which can encourage activation of the natural healing powers of the body, helping the body to sustain optimum health. A Reflexology treatment helps harmonise the mind, body and soul, restoring equilibrium, and when the natural balance within the body is restored, a feeling of well-being can result. As well as aiding relaxation, treatments can help increase energy levels, strengthen the immune system and improve circulation.

Reflexology does not claim to be a ‘cure-all’ and neither is it a diagnostic tool. However, many people have found the benefits of Reflexology to be powerful and there is a multitude of published research that supports the benefits of Reflexology.

NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) is an agency of the National Health Service (NHS) whose responsibility is to promote clinical excellence. Their role is to develop evidenced-based guidance regarding treatments and provide recommendations for doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to use, based on the best-available clinical evidence. They have a link on their site referencing a multitude of Reflexology research, as follows: https://www.evidence.nhs.uk/search?q=reflexology
